Sarah Sutton at workNorthern Lights is run by Sarah Sutton. Sarah was educated at the Lakes School, Windermere, and at the College of York and Ripon St John where she graduated in 1992 with a IIi degree in English and Education. She trained as a stained glass artist at the Vetrate Artistiche Toscane in Siena. After her training she worked in London under the name Glazed Expressions

On moving back to Cumbria in 1997, Sarah set up her own studio in Kendal and established Northern Lights Stained Glass. In addition to design and fitting work Sarah runs classes in the techniques of stained glass window design and cutting at adult education centres in South Cumbria. She also produces a range of jewellery and domestic glassware.

Reproducing the Arts & Crafts style in CumbriaNorthern Lights specialises in restoration work and glass painting techniques. They have designed, constructed, fitted and restored windows in churches, schools and other public buildings and private dwellings in Italy and England. Their work can be seen in various churches in Tuscany and many private houses in London and South Cumbria. They have a panel in North Middlesex Hospital and a large stained glass window in Cartmel School, Cumbria. Current large-scale projects include the design of a millennium window for St Mark's Church, Natland and a restoration of Trinity Church West Windows, Ulverston.
